MATH PROBLEMS

MONEY:
2.) A bank teller has some P50 bills and some P200 bills. The teller has five more P200 bills than P50 bills. The total value of the money is P7250. Find the number of P50 bills.
4.) A chasier has a total of 126 bills, made up of fifties and hundreds. The total value of the money is P8400. How many of each kind does she have?
6.) How many kg of chocolates costing P46 per kg may be mixed w/ 6kg of chocolates costing P50 per kg to produce a mix that can be sold for P49 per kg?
8.) There were 11,000 people at the recent UAAP basketball game who paid as total P790,000 in entrance fees. Students paid P30 each and non-students paid P80 each. How many students attended?
10.) How many packs of candy worth P50 per pack must be mixed w/ 60 packs that are worth P40 per pack to get a special Christmas mix to sell for P44 per pack?

MIXTURE:
1.) One alloy contains 80% gold (by weight) and another contains 55% gold. How many grams of each alloy should be combined to make 40g of an alloy that contains 70% gold?
3.) How much water is required to dilute 15 liters of a solution that is 12% dye solution so that a 5% dye solution is obtained?
5.) A gardener has 26kg of a mix of fertilizer and weed killer. If 1kg of the mix is replaced by weed killer the result is a mix that is 5% weed killer. What percent of the original mix was weed killer?
7.) What weight of water must be evaporated from 40lb of a 20% salt solution to produce a 50% solution? All percentages are by weight.
9.) Two unblended manganese (Mn) ores contain 40% and 25% Mn respectively. How many tons of each must be mixed to give 100 tons of blended ore containing 35% of Mn? All percentages are by weight.
11.) How many quarts of pure alcohol must be added to 10 quarts of a 15% alcohol solution to obtain a mix that is 25% alcohol? All percentages are by volume.
13.) One thousand quarts of milk testing 4% butterfat are to be reduced to 3%. How many quarts of cream testing 23% butterfat must be separated from the milk to produce the required result? All percentages are by volume.
